• Teach four Science sections daily to students in Grades 5 and 6.
• Prepare engaging, inquiry-based science lessons that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Guide students in developing skills essential to effective learning, including creativity, collaboration, communication, and scientific inquiry.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the academic needs of diverse learners.
• Provide tutoring and academic support for students as needed.
• Implement activities that support students' executive functioning and social-emotional development.
• Assist with supervision duties, including breakfast, lunch, dismissal, and other assigned responsibilities.
• Teach during the Academy Prep Summer Program and participate in student evaluations and selection activities.
• Attend weekly faculty and staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Chaperone at least one field trip each semester, including occasional evening or weekend events such as chess tournaments and other Academy Prep activities.
• Participate as a representative of Academy Prep in school fundraising events and community activities as requested.
• Attend school-wide programming and special events to support students and colleagues.
• Live the school's mission and core values of Loyalty, Empathy, Accountability, Diligence, Engagement, and Respect.

• Bachelor's degree required (Science, Education, or a related field preferred).
• Teaching certification preferred.
• Two or more years of middle school teaching experience preferred.
