We prepare youth and young adults to be ready for college, career, and life.

Under the direction of the Club Director, the Certified Art Instructor is responsible for planning and leading engaging, age-appropriate art activities for students participating in the after-school program. The instructor fosters creativity, self-expression, and artistic skill development while maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. The Art Instructor will serve as a role model to our Club members while helping young people build the skills, confidence, and opportunities that shape their future.

• Model the mission, vision, ICARE values, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa Bay; and the principles and practices of non-profit organizations.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and program documentation as required.
• Assist in promoting art programs and recruiting youth participants.

• Plan and implement creative art lessons and projects aligned with student age and skill levels.
• Teach a variety of artistic techniques and mediums, including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and crafts.
• Encourage creativity, imagination, and individual expression among students.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly environment during all activities that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
• Display student artwork and celebrate artistic achievements.
• Assess participant progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement.
• Modify instruction to accommodate varying skill levels, learning styles, and participant needs.

• Excel in customer service to effectively communicate with Club members, staff, and visitors to include parents, volunteers, or other community members.
• Build positive relationships with youth members that support social, emotional, and developmental growth.
• Create an inclusive and supportive environment that encourages creativity, self-expression, respect, and cultural appreciation.

• Assist staff members in the absence of others, work on some weekends and/or extended hours for special events and/or programs or support other Club locations within a reasonable geography.
• Maintains daily contact with Club Director, Club staff, members, and families.
• Demonstrates the ability to collaborate and effectively work within and across teams to accomplish our organizational goals in support of our Mission and each other.

• Prioritizes member and Club safety through active supervision and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Actively participates with members and collaborates with colleagues to create a positive environment with clear and respectful communication.

• Valid State Teaching certification required.
• Certification, degree, specialized training, or demonstrated expertise in art instruction.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience teaching art to children and/or adolescents preferred.
• Knowledge of basic art techniques, materials, and creative processes.
• Must complete required DCF trainings in allotted time.
• Successfully complete organization sponsored CPR training within 90 days of hire.

Travel may be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Pinellas counties for training and professional development or other business purposes.
