Overview

This shore-based role offers a unique opportunity to support the technical management and operational excellence of a U.S.

-flag tanker fleet. Working closely with senior technical leaders, you will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient vessel operations, leveraging your technical expertise and maritime knowledge. Responsibilities
  • Assist with the day-to-day technical management of assigned vessels, including maintenance planning, defect tracking, and repair coordination
  • Support dry docking preparations, execution, and close-out activities to ensure vessel integrity and compliance
  • Monitor vessel condition, analyze performance trends, and track technical KPIs for operational insights
  • Help ensure vessel compliance with USCG, ABS, SOLAS, MARPOL, and ISM regulations
  • Coordinate with shipboard engineering teams, vendors, and shipyards to facilitate maintenance and repairs
  • Review technical reports, invoices, and repair scopes to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Support budget management and cost control initiatives to optimize fleet expenditure
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and incident investigations to uphold safety and compliance standards
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and records for regulatory and operational purposes
Required Skills
  • Strong technical or engineering background with a solid understanding of maritime operations
  • Previous experience in vessel management, technical support, or ship management environments
  • Familiarity with tanker operations (product, crude, or chemical) highly desirable
  • Knowledge of U.S.

    -flag regulatory standards (USCG, ABS)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and follow-up skills
  • Ability to coordinate with diverse teams and stakeholders effectively
Nice To Have Skills
  • Sailing experience as Marine Engineer (Third/Second Engineer or higher)
  • Shore-based experience in technical or vessel management roles
  • Experience with dry docking, repairs, and maintenance management
  • Proficiency in reviewing technical reports, invoices, and repair documentation
Preferred Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or a related field preferred
  • Prior shipboard experience combined with shore-based technical roles is advantageous
  • Relevant tanker industry experience supports a strong candidacy
