A Flight Controls & Motion Engineering co‑op is responsible for supporting the Flight Controls & Motion group in software design, implementation, & testing. The successful candidate will support developing and testing software solutions for real‑time simulation applications using a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques.

Working under close supervision, the candidate is responsible for code, test, and documentation of flight controls, autopilot, stability control and motion control system software designs, requiring the application of current industry design concepts and utilization of basic technical writing skills. Emphasis will be placed on supporting the group’s engineers to meet program schedule, performance, budget.

Assignments will be geared towards learning real‑time programming techniques for flight simulation applications.

• Must be enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree (or higher level) college/university program majoring in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must be willing to learn new procedures and applications.
• Must have good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Must be detail‑oriented.
• Must be customer service‑oriented.
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

• Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
• Familiarity with C++, Ada, or Python.
• Understanding of the concepts of digital machine control systems, basic software engineering methodologies and tools.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret electrical & mechanical drawings, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.

• Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.

• Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility.
