"This role is paid on an hourly basis with a range of $40-$58 and is eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable laws. The expected approximate annualized compensation range is $80,000-$120,000."

Summary of the Role

The Senior Electrical Engineering Designer, supporting our Electric Vehicle Infrastructure team, will lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for commercial projects in the electric vehicle charging space, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards. This role is pivotal in maintaining detailed designs for large EV clients. The designer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including design, and construction to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.

Ultimately, this position ensures the successful execution of electrical projects from concept through completion, maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities

* Develop complete electrical design packages for Level 2 / DCFC EV charging installations, including site layouts, single-line diagrams, conduit and wiring plans, and load calculations.

* Conduct electrical load analysis and service capacity evaluations to determine utility upgrade requirements.

* Ensure all designs comply with NEC, local building codes, and utility standards.

* Prepare permit-ready drawings and documentation for AHJ submissions.

* Conduct site walks to verify existing electrical infrastructure, panel capacity, grounding conditions, and charger placement feasibility. Field electrical experience preferred.

* Collect field data, photos, and measurements to support accurate design and layout.

* Coordinate with construction teams during installation to ensure design intent is followed.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field

* Proven experience in electrical design

* Code Knowledge and familiarity with NEC

* Design and develop electrical power distribution systems using AutoCAD and ETAP software

* Create and review wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation to support project requirements

* Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to align project objectives and resolve technical issues

* Conduct site visits to oversee installation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards

Work Location

This is a hybrid position (3 days a week in the office) based out of the following Core States Group offices:
Ontario, CA;
Somerville, NJ; or Tampa, FL.
