GFT is seeking a
Site/Civil Engineer to support a variety of projects in the
Southeast region. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at Tampa, FL office.
GFT is seeking a Site/Civil Designer for our site development practice within the buildings & places business group. The position will participate in project teams for the planning, design, and construction administration of public and private projects. Clients and projects may be in various locations in the Southeast region. Candidates must have the flexibility to travel within the region periodically to help serve GFT’s client base.
The role supports a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Tampa, FL office.
- Production of engineering and design deliverables in accordance with GFT procedures and standards for projects across the business line.
- Collaborate with PMs and Senior Site/Civil Engineers to deliver successful projects to a variety of GFT clients.
- Understanding and applying agency design standards in the design of civil infrastructure.
- Using hydrologic and hydraulic programs (ICPR, HEC-RAS, Bentley software, etc.) in the analysis of storm water. Modeling water and wastewater systems (using Water
CAD and Sewer
CAD). - Writing Basis of Design or other reports related to support civil/site design.
- Coordinating with other disciplines in the development of construction drawings and specifications.
- Coordinating with internal and external clients.
- Occasional travel (up to 10% of time) for field work and meetings.
- BS in Civil Engineering (MS is a plus)
- E.I.T required. Preferred on track for PE licensure in Florida
- 3+ years of site/land development experience required including a thorough knowledge of the requirements of local, State and Federal agencies having site plan approval jurisdiction.
- Thorough knowledge of local development approval process including site design and grading, stormwater management and erosion & sediment control design, and utility design.
- Extensive site stormwater management design and permitting.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Proficient in MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Salary range: $85,000 - $118,000, dependent upon experience and geographic location.
