Foundation Personnel, a specialist recruitment partner to the geotechnical and foundations sector, is working with one of North America’s leading design-build contractors to appoint a talented Regional Engineering Manager.
Role DescriptionThis is an opportunity for a Regional Engineering Manager works closely with regional leadership on preconstruction and final design engineering needs, as well as priority management. The manager will direct others in the production of designs and drawings to support excavation, ground improvement, and foundation work, and may be required to complete these tasks themselves as the workload requires.
This individual is responsible for developing and reviewing preliminary designs for bidding purposes, overseeing the estimators in the pre-construction stage in the pursuit of value engineering ideas, and coordinate delivery of final design packages.
Key responsibilities include:- Manage and direct engineering workload for the regional engineering team.
- Perform or review preliminary designs of support of excavation, ground improvement, and other geotechnical systems.
- Provide feedback on the feasibility of ground improvement and support of excavation/structural design solutions.
- Prepare or review drawings and calculations packages for construction for support of excavation and ground improvement with supervision from principal engineers.
- Perform field observations of construction where appropriate.
- Collaborate with other engineers and professionals, both within the business and with outside firms, clients, and consultants.
- BS in Civil Engineering with a focus on geotechnical coursework, Master's preferred
- Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience in Support of Excavation, Ground Improvement, or Geotechnical design
- PE license
- Strong technical writing, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
