Job Description

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering IV in Tampa, FL.

Job Details
  • Perform site reviews and studies
  • Develop designs and specifications for water resource projects
  • Assist in the preparation of construction plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Develop grading plans for wetland and hydrologic restoration projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Prepare and submit permit applications to the FDEP and five water management districts in the State of Florida
  • Design stormwater ponds, open channels, and closed underground piped storm sewers in accordance with regulatory criteria
  • Perform bridge scour analysis and the design of countermeasures at bridges to minimize scour
  • Design erosion and sediment control best management practices (BMPs) and develop Stormwater Pollution Plans (SWPPPs) for construction sites in accordance with the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) regulated by the FDEP
  • Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced Engineer
  • Prepare thorough technical reports documenting engineering design and drainage analyses
  • Assist with master planning
  • Develop computer models for large watersheds as well as smaller drainage areas associated with design projects on Storm Wise, MIKE SHE / MIKE HYDRO, HEC‑RAS and SWMM
  • Submit technical papers to conferences and journals
  • Participate in professional societies relevant to the industry
  • Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well‑defined procedures
  • Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests
  • Propose approach to solve new problems encountered
  • Identify discrepancies in results
  • Provide guidance to entry level engineers
  • Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision
Qualifications

Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Water Resources Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience in a civil engineering‑related occupation.

  • XP‑SWMM
  • MIKE SHE and MIKE 6, ArcGIS Desktop
  • ArcGIS Pro
  • Autodesk Applications, including Civil 3D and Storm and Sanitary Analysis (SSA)
  • Python
  • Ability to serve as engineer of record and sign and seal drawings
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $126,000 to $145,048.
