Mechanical Designer Energy & Industrial

Hybrid Work Arrangement

Three days a week in the office, with flexibility to work remotely two days.

• Collaborate with multi-disciplined engineering and design teams to develop mechanical physical layout drawings in 3‑D models.
• Design mechanical systems, investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide variety of mechanical design issues.
• Utilize 3D modeling software tools to create mechanical design schematics.
• Coordinate detailed design phases for all aspects of an integrated mechanical design model.
• Support other designers and project team members to ensure complete and timely design deliverables.
• Independently, as well as in a team, plan and execute mechanical design deliverables such as general arrangements, piping isometrics, piping composites, pipe support drawings, and equipment location drawings.
• Assist senior designers and engineers in field walk‑downs and data gathering at client facilities.
• Provide guidance to others in the use of drafting tools and mentor less experienced drafters and designers.

• Associate’s Degree in drafting, or high school diploma with 1+ years of drafting coursework or equivalent technical experience.
• 3+ years of detailed physical design experience in developing mechanical general arrangements, piping systems, and supports.
• Proficiency with 3‑D plant layout software tools.
• Experience reviewing mechanical equipment, including outlines and interface points, and coordinating related deliverables.
• Ability to interface with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in the power‑plant design process.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.
• Proficiency with Micro Station.

Sargent & Lundy discloses compensation ranges that comply with all local and state regulations. The total compensation package for eligible positions includes a base salary or an hourly rate and a comprehensive benefits package. Individuals may also be eligible for a yearly discretionary bonus.
