SPP Engineer

Pay Rate: $62.07/hr

• Coordinate circuit protection activities across Storm Protection Plan (SPP) distribution programs.
• Perform coordination reviews, fusing analysis, and corrective action support for impacted circuits.
• Lead and review FLISR (Fault Location Isolation Service Restoration) analysis and device settings.
• Review load transfer and phase change requests for operational feasibility.
• Support distribution design initiatives, including feeder hardening, lateral undergrounding, and distribution wood pole replacement.
• Review and approve contractor designs to ensure compliance with NESC and utility standards.
• Attend design meetings and support contractor oversight activities.
• Assist with engineering documentation, standards, and best-practice development.
• Troubleshoot and support distribution power system reliability initiatives.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• Minimum 18 months of related engineering experience.
• Utility, power distribution, or distribution design engineering experience.
• Ability to read and interpret one-lines, schematics, and distribution maps.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and project coordination skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related engineering systems.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• 4+ years of utility engineering experience.
• Experience with system protection & coordination, FLISR analysis, distribution design, feeder hardening or undergrounding projects.

• Combination of indoor and outdoor work environments.
• 40-hour work week with occasional overtime.
• Physical requirements:
  
  sitting, standing/walking, driving, and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
