Are you ready to lead transformative airport infrastructure projects across Florida and the Southeast? Join Stantec’s Aviation Consulting Practice as our Florida Airport Infrastructure Lead and take the helm in driving innovation, growth, and excellence in airport planning, design, and construction management.

This is more than a leadership role; it’s a chance to build something extraordinary. You’ll be at the forefront of strategic planning, client engagement, and team development, all while collaborating with top-tier professionals across the Gulf and Northeast regions.

This role is based in one of our Florida offices—Tampa, FL preferred, but other locations are possible based on your client relationships. Expect regular travel across Florida and occasional field work.

Our Airports Team is taking airport design to the next level. From roadway to runway or full terminal design, your career will soar to new heights.

The Stantec Transportation group provides services to both private and public sector clients. While you will be focusing on work in Florida and the southeast, the successful candidate will alsohave opportunities to collaborate with our other teams across the United States and in Canada and support their project needs as opportunities arise.

Key Responsibilities Business Development
  • Lead high-impact pursuits in Florida’s aviation market—identify opportunities, build winning teams, and secure major contracts.
  • Grow our brand by engaging with industry organizations like AAAE, ACI, FAC, ASCE, ACEC, and WTS.
  • Expand our reach by collaborating across business lines—Community Development, Buildings, Environmental Services, and PM/CM.
  • Be a connector—build strategic relationships with airport authorities, counties, and cities.
Build and lead a high-performing aviation team with specialized expertise
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and innovation across disciplines and geographies.
  • Play a key role in hiring and mentoring the next generation of aviation engineers.
Project Management

Serve as Project Manager, Project Director, Principal, or Subject Matter Expert on major airport infrastructure projects.

  • Oversee project delivery with a focus on quality, budget, and schedule.
  • Support cross-regional efforts with our Portland, ME office and other Northeast locations.
Capabilities and Credentials
  • PE license in Florida (or ability to obtain within 60 days); licenses in other states a plus.
  • Proven success delivering projects for small, medium, and large hub airports in Florida.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in airport infrastructure design, PM, or construction.
