Position: Engineering Technician (SECRET CLEARANCE)

Insight Global is looking for a 2nd Shift Engineering Technician, that currently holds an active Secret Clearance (or higher) to support avionics manufacturing in Tampa, FL. This a temporary 6+ months W2 contract (with possibility for ongoing/long term extensions or conversion to FTE), and offering health, dental, and vision enrollment from day one!

Job Summary

As an Engineering Technician, you'll play a key role in supporting R&D projects and collaborating with cross-functional portfolio teams. You'll be involved in the end-to-end development of hardware prototypes, contributing to the design and assembly of PCB, mechanical components, and software scripts. Your work will include conducting tests and experiments that drive development toward manufacturing readiness, while maintaining thorough documentation and process records to track test data and results.

This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where collaboration is at the heart of everything we do.

This person will be required to aid in the assembly of unmanned aerial vehicles and airframes. They will be working with prototype design and utilizing engineering schematics in order to assemble aircrafts. They will also be responsible for acceptance testing of the airframe.

Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues to identify faulty components
  • Conduct troubleshooting for both electrical and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance
  • Use oscilloscopes and digital multimeters (DMM) to thoroughly test Systems
  • Solder wire harnesses and making cables based on minimal documentation
  • Assist in diagnosing and resolving technical challenges, contributing to project success.
  • Configuration, troubleshooting, data analysis, and integration of a wide variety of applications and equipment such as (GPS receivers, LiDAR sensors, Inertial sensors, network routers, radiomodems, meteorological sensors, serial port hubs, etc.)
  • Contribute to the design, assembly, and testing of UAV frames for advanced projects.
  • Committed to a 6+ month initial W2 contract
  • Comfortable commuting in office to Tampa, FL up to 5 days per week
  • Minimum of a Secret Clearance
  • 3+ years of experience as an engineering technician Experience as an engineering technician in the aerospace industry
  • Ability to read and understand engineering schematics Experience with Advanced AIT work
  • Solid Works design experience is a plus
  • J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certifications is a plus
