Building Enclosure Department Manager

Responsibilities ECS is offering an exciting opportunity for a Building Enclosure Department Manager to join our Florida Building Science + Infrastructure team in Tampa, FL.

In this role, you'll lead projects involving inspections, testing, assessments, and commissioning of building envelopes for existing structures. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality consulting solutions to a diverse range of facilities and clients. What You'll Do Leadership & Practice Growth
* Lead and grow a department focused on Building Enclosure services
* Drive strategic business development initiatives and expand ECS's presence within the local market
* Develop and strengthen relationships with REITs, developers, property managers, insurance companies, banks, contractors, and design professionals
* Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers, architects, inspectors, and technical staff
* Manage departmental operations, staffing, utilization, and financial performance, including P&L responsibility Technical & Project Oversight
* Oversee projects involving: *

* Building envelope and enclosure evaluations
* Roof and waterproofing assessments
* Moisture and water intrusion investigations
* Property condition assessments (PCA)
* Forensic investigations and failure analysis
* Structural evaluations and related design work
* Code compliance inspections and plan review services
* Review technical reports, proposals, scopes, and deliverables to ensure quality and consistency
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams and clients
* Support project management efforts including scheduling, budgeting, and client communication Qualifications What We're Looking For Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Architecture (NCARB), or a related field
* 8+ years of related experience with building enclosure consulting, including field investigations, testing, commissioning (BECx), design review, or forensic assessments
* Licensed or certified in at least one of the following preferred but not required:
* Professional Engineer (P.E.)
* Registered Architect (R.A.)
* IIBEC certifications (RRC, RWC, REWC, RBEC, CBECxP)
* University of Wisconsin-Madison certifications (BECxP, CxA+BE)

Physical Requirements
* Ability to lift up to 40 pounds multiple times per day, stand for extended periods, walk on uneven terrain, and perform work itional Requirements
