The TECO Energy Internship & Cooperative Education Program offers college degree‑seeking students the opportunity for professional growth while meeting the business needs of the company. The program is an extension of the educational process, providing practical experience to complement formal classroom work. The co‑op program recruits students from colleges to give them an opportunity to work in a professional environment related to their field of study.
PositionSummary / Details
This co‑op position offers a unique opportunity for college degree‑seeking students to engage in a multifaceted role centered around network device testing and engineering design. The selected student will actively participate in the evaluation and testing of network devices and utilize their engineering skills to contribute to the design process.
Accountabilities- Network Device Testing:
Conduct rigorous testing and evaluation of network devices, ensuring they meet performance and reliability standards. This includes hardware and software testing, troubleshooting, and documentation. - Engineering Design Support:
Collaborate with the engineering team to contribute to the design and development of new network devices or improvements to existing ones. This may involve prototyping and technical documentation. - Documentation:
Maintain accurate and detailed records of testing procedures, results, and design modifications. Produce technical documentation to support product development and regulatory compliance. - Collaborative Contribution:
Actively engage in team discussions, sharing insights and ideas to enhance network device performance and engineering design processes.

Preferred AvailabilityPart – Time (20-30 hours)
Working ConditionsMostly in a normal office environment, a successful candidate will visit the field on average once a month. This may include riding in a company vehicle on‑road and off‑road, walking on uneven surfaces, and entering substations.
Qualifications EducationThe successful applicant should be enrolled in an ABET accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post‑secondary educational program in a related discipline.
Co‑Op Requirements- To qualify as a co‑op student, enrollment in the university’s co‑op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co‑op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.
- A minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required.
