Audio Visual Design Engineer
Tampa, FL
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Audio Visual Design Engineer to join a leading Government and Commercial AV Integrator in the Reston, VA area.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting both pre-sales and post-sales phases of AV projects, working closely with sales, engineering, and project teams to design and deliver high-quality audiovisual solutions. This role requires strong communication skills, technical acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities- Support sales and technical teams during the pre-sales process, including solution design and proposal development
- Review client requirements and develop functional system designs that meet project needs and budgets
- Prepare system documentation and coordinate with estimating teams for pricing
- Collaborate with clients and project teams throughout the design and implementation phases to ensure technical accuracy
- Provide post-sales support, including system verification and technical guidance during project execution
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging AV technologies and industry best practices
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through proactive communication and professional service
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in audiovisual system design or engineering
- Strong understanding of AV design principles, integration workflows, and industry standards
- Proven experience in both pre-sales and post-sales technical support
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with standard office and design tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with AutoCAD or similar tools is a plus)
- CTS certification preferred
- Two-year or higher degree in electronics, engineering, or related field preferred
