Travel Requirements: Frequent travel between Big Bend Power Station, Bayside Power Station, and Polk Power Station
Position SummaryThis position serves as a technical resource supporting Operations, Maintenance, Construction, and Engineering teams. The Electrical / I&C Construction Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the preparation of field installation contract work packages, directing contractor activities using a zero-accident philosophy, monitoring environmental compliance, and ensuring contractor activities support overall project schedules.
The Supervisor will review project designs to identify potential changes, coordinate contract change notices, ensure quality execution of work, and identify construction‑critical activities that could impact project schedules. This position is responsible for coordinating electrical and instrumentation & controls (I&C) project scope while ensuring compliance with all work rules and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure quality of work performed and identify critical items that may impact project schedules.
- Review project designs and identify potential changes.
- Coordinate review and approval of contractor change notices.
- Monitor contractor work to ensure activities are performed safely and cost-effectively.
- Assist in preparing field installation subcontract packages.
- Monitor assigned projects for work rule compliance.
- Review contractor progress and critical path activities through regularly scheduled meetings.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and productivity tracking against estimates.
- Support Engineering and Project Management teams in bidding, evaluating, and awarding Electrical and Controls contract work.
- Assign duties and responsibilities to contractors and monitor work progress.
- Inspect ongoing work activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop detailed commissioning and startup plans with station personnel.
- Ensure proper operation of new and existing equipment during startup activities.
- Maintain QA/QC oversight to minimize rework and support outage and non-outage schedules.
- Coordinate electrical and controls construction activities across assigned projects.
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Construction management training.
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 10–15 years of heavy industrial construction or construction management experience.
- Minimum 10 years of electrical and controls commissioning and startup experience in a combined‑cycle power plant environment.
- Experience supervising contractors on large‑scale industrial construction projects.
- Experience supporting outage planning, scheduling, and execution.
- Strong knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements and industry construction standards.
- Experience developing contract scopes of work.
- Experience preparing budget estimates and supporting contract administration activities.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage Electrical and Controls projects.
- Strong leadership and team‑building skills.

- Night and weekend work may be required to support outage schedules.
- Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Frequent walking, bending, climbing, and navigating industrial facilities.
- Frequent travel between Big Bend, Bayside, and Polk Power Stations.
- Occasional overnight travel for:
- Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)
- User group meetings
- Vendor inspections
- Shop inspections
- Outdoor work in hot, humid, wet, and cold conditions.
- Exposure to elevated noise levels requiring hearing protection.
- Occasional on‑call responsibilities.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required.
- Ability to navigate multi‑level power plant structures.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs and ladders.
- Ability to respond to contractor emergencies throughout the facility.
