Project Controls Scheduler

ESP Associates, Inc. is actively looking to bring an experienced Project Controls Scheduler to join our team in Tampa, FL and/or Austin, TX for Program Management/Construction Management (PMCM) projects.

About the Role:

As a Project Scheduler, you will be responsible for providing staff support and direct project support to manage project planning, process control, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

The role is focused on managing and ensuring project and program goals are met in an Owner’s Representative / Construction Management capacity.

To succeed in this role, you should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver results on deadlines.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Development:
    Create integrated master schedules (IMS) for engineering, procurement, and construction phases, including logic ties, cost and resource loading, and milestones.
  • Progress Tracking:
    Update schedules regularly with actual progress, analyzing variances between planned and actual completion dates.
  • Critical Path Analysis:
    Identify the critical path and potential bottlenecks, providing "what-if" scenario planning to mitigate risks and delays.
  • Reporting & Communication:
    Prepare detailed performance reports (KPIs), such as earned value management (EVM), for management and stakeholders.
  • Change Management:
    Evaluate the impact of potential change orders and delays on the project schedule and update baselines accordingly.
  • Collaboration:

    Work with project managers, engineers, and field teams to develop sub-schedules for specific operations and ensure alignment.
  • Develop, monitor, and track project schedules, identifying, and addressing potential delays and managing compliance with critical path milestones.
  • Assist with development of proposals through creation of baseline schedules.
  • Use and create tools to monitor project progress through tracking of earned value, project level expenditures and project cash flow.
  • Ensure project standards and requirements are being met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in project controls and/or schedule controls, preferably in the construction, engineering, or energy sectors.
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, ASTA Power Project, or similar software
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project skills
  • Experience managing Critical Path Method (CPM) Schedules
  • Understanding of scheduling techniques, Critical Path Method (CPM), and cost-loading.
  • Experience managing submittal and RFI processes.
  • Working knowledge of project lifecycle management tools like Unifier, Pro Core, and/or Kahua.
  • Hands-on experience with project management tools, Earned Value, Risk Analysis, or similar project accounting tools.
  • Experience in change management, including change orders, estimating, budget management, and field order execution or implementation.
  • Understanding of permitting processes, permit schedule milestone tracking and permit condition compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong client-facing, teamwork and organizational skills, including multitasking and time- management.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a safe manner and obey safety regulations at all times
  • Must be proactive, detail oriented and highly organized
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy
