Electrical Estimator

Overview

The Estimator will perform all aspects of cost estimating using Accubid Estimating Software. Projects range from $100K to $5M and include medical, hospitality, healthcare, retail, restaurants, schools, manufacturing, multi‑family, industrial, and many others. Estimators must bid and win jobs, requiring salesmanship, negotiation skills, and the ability to build long‑term customer relationships.

• Review specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and contents of the estimate.
• Prepare estimates using Trimble Accubid and analyze the results for accuracy and complete content.
• Request quotes for materials, subcontractors, and buy‑out packages.
• Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and review quotes for completeness with plans and specifications.
• Itemize and quantify all incidentals necessary in preparing the bid packages, including rental tools and supplies.
• Prior to the issuance of the formal bid package, provide to the Chief Estimator a detailed review of scope, technical requirements, and pricing for the estimated bid package.
• After the successful bid at project turnover, meet with Project Management to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes, and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project.
• Responsible for the timely completion of all client‑required documents.
• Draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
• Provide cost‑saving options and value‑engineering ideas to help the customer and company obtain a competitive added value and competitive edge.

• Minimum of 3 years proven electrical estimating experience.
• Accubid or similar computer estimating experience is required.
• Committed to providing customer service at all hours.
• Experience with Accubid Live Count is a plus.
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu is a plus.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and installation methods.
• Ability to work in a deadline‑driven, fast‑paced environment with a drive to get the job done.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and other computer skills.
• Prior field experience is preferred.
• Must have solid understanding of the electrical construction process in a wide variety of project types.

$75,000 – $100,000 base salary, plus bonus opportunities based on project profitability.
