A leading power systems manufacturer is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Power Systems to drive the design and development of advanced electrical and power management technologies. This is a high-impact, hands-on engineering role supporting both new product innovation and the enhancement of existing platforms.

Position OverviewAs a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will lead the creation of AC/DC and DC/DC power conversion systems, support technical proposals, influence product roadmaps, and collaborate across engineering, sales, manufacturing, and compliance teams. You will play a central role in ensuring product performance, manufacturability, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop AC/DC and DC/DC switch-mode power supplies (medium and low voltage).
- Support Sales by reviewing and developing technical proposals with limited reference designs.
- Select and specify components for performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Lead efforts to standardize designs and improve productivity, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure product compliance with internal requirements, customer specifications, and applicable industry standards.
- Integrate new technologies into hardware designs and contribute to product roadmap strategy.
- Modify, troubleshoot, and optimize existing designs and circuit topologies.
- Translate customer requirements into robust engineering solutions.
- Coordinate with PCB layout, mechanical design, documentation, safety approvals, and manufacturing teams.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve complex technical issues.
- Prepare technical documentation such as test procedures, design descriptions, and engineering reports.
- Mentor and guide engineers; communicate effectively with leadership, customers, and cross-functional teams.
- Strong expertise in schematic design, PCB development, troubleshooting, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Hands-on design and troubleshooting experience with AC/DC power supplies, DC/DC converters, inverters, UPS systems, and distribution systems down to component level.
- Knowledge of EMI/RFI attenuation, EMC compliance, and MIL-standard design practices.
- Skilled in developing and validating circuit topologies with a focus on Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
- Experience designing for environmental and thermal conditions (temperature, humidity, shock, vibration).
- Proficiency with lab instruments: oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, spectrum analyzers, thermal chambers, etc.
- Experience writing detailed test procedures and creating test fixtures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CAD/simulation tools (Altium, PCAD, etc.).
- Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork capabilities.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or Physical Sciences (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience in power electronics design.
- 3–5+ years of experience with PCB layout tools, simulation tools, and applicable industry standards.
- Experience working within ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 environments.
- Familiarity with MIL-Standards for ground, afloat, and airborne applications.
- UPS design experience is required.
