Hiring salary range: $2,225.68 - $2,880.29 / biweekly
$57,867.70 - $74,887.62 /annual range
Anticipated biweekly salary $2,606.38
A competitive area differential (cad) additive will be added to your salary based on number of hours worked. The pro-rated cad amount will be calculated from $478.40 .

Your specific responsibilities:
Performs review of phase submittals to verify plans include all necessary pay items and pay item quantities reflective of work shown in plans to develop a complete cost estimate. Reviews long range estimates (lre) to verify project information is correct and accurately reflects scope of work shown in plans or other scope documents. Reviews design quantities & estimates (dqe) to verify project information is correct and includes necessary pay items/quantities for a complete cost estimate.
Prices pay items in (dqe) to reflect current market conditions and provides updated cost estimate to the engineer of record. Provides comments in electronic review comments (erc) as needed.
Establishes or updates construction cost estimates on all projects including complex and/or specialized projects in the department's work program utilizing the long-range estimating (lre) system or design quantities & estimates (dqe) system. This requires obtaining the latest scope of work from the project and determining unit prices based on the latest cost data and trends available. Coordinates with work program and other departments during development of the construction cost estimate.
Provides updated construction cost estimates on all projects in the 5-year work program for the annual review. Addresses projects not meeting work program criteria.
Prepares authorizations and official cost estimates on all projects including complex and/or specialized projects utilizing the design quantities & estimates (dqe) system to establish pay item unit prices. This requires a highly technical evaluation of construction plans, specifications, assessment of historical bid prices, knowledge of geographic pricing fluctuations, understanding of bidding competition in the project area and other related impacts to construction cost.
Adjusts unit prices as necessary based on these factors. Posts the authorization estimate to central office's server and timely transfers control of proposals and projects to central office (co) for class 1 construction contracts.
Administers the lre system, and design quantities & estimates (dqe) system, designer interface program and the aashto preconstruction web-based system (estimates related functions) in the district.
