HNTB’s Tampa, FL office is seeking a Roadway Engineer II to join our Engineering design team. Our team is currently working on some of the most complex projects in Florida for FDOT and a variety of local government clients. As a Roadway Engineer II, you will coordinate and deliver transportation engineering projects within scope, budget, and time schedules from initial start‑up through project closeout.
These projects can range from small intersection and multimodal corridor improvement projects to large interchanges, multimodal improvements, low impact bridge construction projects and feasibility projects.
What You’ll Do- Complete assigned work within the schedule and number of hours provided.
- Prepare and/or modify selected portions of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
- Develop project quantities and assist with development of cost estimates.
- Assist engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
- Self‑sufficiently complete various tasks and duties including research, data collection, field investigations, development, and design of projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience.
- Master’s degree in Engineering and 1 year of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in applying engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles in your work.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and Micro Station/Open Roads and/or AutoCAD or other software as required for job assignments.
- FDOT experience.
- Master’s degree in Engineering.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Knowledge of Micro Station and/or AutoCAD.
