We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to manage energy efficiency, distributed energy, and design‑build projects, including Investment Grade Audits, infrastructure construction, mechanical/electrical/plumbing implementation contracts, conceptual engineering design, forensic engineering evaluations, and system/building commissioning. The role involves managing customer relationships, subcontractor relationships, and supporting the development, engineering, and construction teams.
Responsibilities- Develop, coordinate, and manage project support services, including project design, budgeting, and scheduling; pre‑qualification, selection, and management of contractors, subcontractors, and equipment vendors.
- Develop and structure project‑related contracts; maintain close contact with the customer; and produce customer deliverables.
- Manage phases of construction and performance contracts while maintaining or enhancing customer satisfaction; collaborate with engineering, development, and project management teams in design optimization and value engineering of energy projects.
- Conduct constructability reviews; perform cost estimating and purchasing functions; manage field‑related project planning, scheduling, and quality control; coordinate field construction project management; direct construction contract administration and risk management activities.
- Manage budgets, schedules, invoicing, and other contract requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction/project management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience managing and implementing a range of energy and MEP design‑build projects.
- Previous budget, schedule, performance, or quality responsibility.
- Specific experience with building energy systems and controls, including commissioning of HVAC, central utilities, and electrical systems.
- Experience with the overall integration of design engineering, construction, start‑up/turnover, and subsequent O&M of energy projects.
- Prior HVAC, electrical, or EMCS design experience is a plus.
- Expertise in codes, permitting, and union issues.
- Strong contract administration and construction risk management skills.
- Strong leadership, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to represent the company, work independently, and as part of a team.
- Strong computer skills, including Excel, MS Project, and Word; experience with Pro Core is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Up to 30% travel may be required.
- Physical ability to lift tools and equipment up to 50 lbs., work safely in extreme environments, walk, climb, and stand extensively, and use hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of environmental and safety policies and procedures.
Pay range: $138,000 – $180,000 annually (base salary). This range is a general guideline and is influenced by scope, experience, certifications, and market factors.
LocationThe role is expected to be a hybrid in‑office position based in Austin, Chicago, or White Plains. If you are located outside these markets or have a remote exception, please confirm your willingness to relocate.
