Senior Electrical Engineer (Building Systems)
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design and delivery of electrical building systems for healthcare and commercial projects. This role is responsible for designing power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems while managing project execution, mentoring engineering staff, and coordinating with clients and construction teams. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience delivering complex engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency power, and low-voltage systems.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers throughout project development.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate project requirements and progress with clients and project stakeholders.
- Work with local regulatory agencies to obtain permits and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Perform construction administration, including reviewing shop drawings, attending project meetings, conducting field observations, and supporting change orders and project closeout activities.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated building system designs.
- Ensure projects meet quality, budget, and schedule objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- 6-20 years of electrical engineering experience.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
- Proficiency with Revit.
- Strong knowledge of electrical building system design, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management abilities.
