Job SummaryThe Senior Project Engineer is accountable for all engineering aspects necessary to deliver water treatment systems (primarily seawater and brackish water reverse osmosis) to be operated by Seven Seas Water (Operations Group) on a long-term basis, delivering water to municipal and industrial customers. The Project Engineer owns all engineering activities required to deliver turnkey solutions on greenfield and brownfield sites. This includes in-house engineering, 3D design, instrumentation and control (I&C) engineering, full SCADA development, and management of third-party engineering subcontracts for civil, structural, building, permitting, etc.,
as needed to support turnkey project delivery.
- Act as the lead engineer for assigned projects; support the project manager in the execution of engineering deliverables. Liaise with the project team and customer to deliver the project.
- Own P&IDs and the integration of the project across all disciplines to ensure consistent design and documentation.
- Prepare engineering documents within specified dates, including P&, foundation loading charts, valves lists, rotating equipment data sheets, static equipment data sheets, heat exchanger data sheet, painting and lining matrices, and piping and valve specifications.
- Prepare Material Purchase Specifications (MPS) for equipment, valves, instruments, vessels, piping, paint, lining, etc., and review and release technical bid evaluations (TBEs). After a purchase order, review and approve supplier submittals to ensure on-schedule execution.
- Coordinate with the 3D Plant Design Team to complete 3D plant design of new water treatment facilities. The Project Engineer will not perform CAD work but will deliver annotated construction drawings of high quality to enable a safe, operable, and efficient plant design.
- Facilitate HAZOP and Plant Design Reviews for new plants built by the company.
- Maintain detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) in the company ERP system (IFS) and issue purchase requisitions using the ERP system.
- Direct and approve the work of mechanical AutoCAD designers completing mechanical and process drawings.
- Assist Business Development with costing on new plants as required.
- Assist in completing operational procedures for new plants built by the company.
- Strong technical knowledge of seawater and brackish water reverse osmosis technology and applications, and related water treatment technologies, trends, and standards.
- Expertise in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings such as P&IDs, PFDs, and GA’s.
- Proficiency with standard business software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); MS Visio and/or AutoCAD design software is preferred.
