Design Engineer II; Electric Distrubition

Description

We're seeking a Design Engineer II to support electric utility distribution projects across West-Central Florida. You'll work on Storm Protection Plans (SPP), pole replacements, lateral and feeder hardening (reconductoring), and highway relocation projects while designing reliable overhead and underground distribution systems. • Apply technical expertise to develop engineering designs that meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
• Collaborate with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages, calculations, and drawings.
• Support the preparation of simple to moderately complex designs and contribute to larger, more complex projects.
• Lead discipline-specific design efforts on simple projects and assist with technical analyses on complex work.
• Utilize CAD and engineering analysis software to support project deliverables.
• Communicate scope, cost, schedule, and quality challenges to team leads and project managers.
• Interact with clients on a limited basis and ensure clear, professional communication.
• Conduct self‑reviews and participate in peer and quality control reviews to ensure accuracy.
• Support fielding activities and perform other related duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university
• 1–2 years of electrical distribution design experience
• Knowledge of the software BOUD and Maximo
• Client‑facing experience and construction support
