Position: Applied Process Technology (APT) Engineer Co-Op/Intern - Summer 2027

Applied Process Technology (APT) Engineer Co‑Op / Intern – Summer 2027

Location & Term

Full‑time Co‑Op/Internship at Fish Hawk site in Lithia, FL (travel to other Florida sites as needed). Term:
May
10,2027–August
20,2027 (36‑40h/week, in‑person, 9/80 schedule if applicable).

Responsibilities
  • Lead innovative engineering projects and improvement activities across Mosaic concentrate and mining processes, including development of entirely new processes.
  • Complete feasibility studies on new technology that could provide a step‑change improvement to aspects of mining and concentrate processing and product development.
  • Actively engage with operations, engineering, and functional groups to share learnings and build collaborative networks.
  • Participate and direct research activities in both laboratory and full‑scale industrial operations.
  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers of various disciplines, tradespersons, and contractors.
  • Participate in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.
  • Adhere to Mosaic’s mission, guiding principles, priorities, and key competencies.
Qualifications
  • Junior level or above by Jan/May
    2027 pursuing a bachelor’s in Chemical, Mechanical, Mining, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2.75 GPA or higher.
  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.
  • 1‑2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or related work is preferred; previous internship or co‑op experience is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work full time while being a student in standing at the time of the co‑op/internship.
  • Successful completion of pre‑placement drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, and functional capacity examination.
  • Basic computer skills required; experience working in a team environment is a must.
  • Familiarity with an industrial environment highly desirable.
  • Effective verbal communication skills a plus.
Physical & Work Environment
  • Occasional outdoor work with exposure to varying hot and cold environments.
  • Must be able to lift 0‑25lb; occasionally.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and work at various heights.
  • Must distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns or materials.
  • Must hear, read, write and understand basic English; may use hearing or vision aids.
  • Must use fine hand motor skills and wear a respirator if required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
