OverviewUnder a five-year contract, the Communications Systems Engineer will support the United States Marine Corps Forces, Central Command (MARCENT) and subordinate commands. The scope includes professional services for MARCENT located aboard Mac Dill Air Force Base (AFB), Florida. The role supports the Communication Directorate (G-6) within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS). The G-6 provides communication support to MARCENT and to CENTCOM Communications (CCJ6) and HQMC agencies, conducting C4 planning and validation for USMC forces operating in the CENTCOM area of responsibility.
Responsibilities- Provide services for the planning, design and implementation of wide area communications systems and engineering for the commercialization of deployed communications and network management for the MARFORCENT Theater.
- Provide technical and operational support including subject matter expertise for FDMA, TDMA, UHF Tactical Satellite (TACSAT), Global Broadcast Satellite (GBS) and other SATCOM networks.
- Assist in configuring networks, monitoring systems, activating remote terminals, and tracking and resolving SATCOM incident reports.
- Submit and analyze Satellite Access, Gateway Access via the Joint Integrated SATCOM Tool.
- Provide engineering and commercialization management during the development of communication systems that may include COTS assets, networking and transmission equipment (routers, servers, switches, microwave, fiber, etc.).
- Develop engineering diagrams that include operation and system level views while executing engineering change management processes.
- Must possess a current US Passport with ability to travel and work overseas.
- Must meet COMSEC briefing and Local Element management certification requirements per OPNAVINST 2201.4, DoD Instruction 8523.01 and Air Force Manual 17-1301.
- Must possess a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
- Current DoD IAT certification Level 1 or above or SEC+, NET+ certified;
Voice/Video Network Certification, preferably CISCO certified. - Higher education degree in Network Engineering, System Administration, Systems Engineering or related field preferred.
- Prior experience and operational knowledge of communications and network management and engineering, with commercialization support for MARFORCENT Theater preferred.
- Prior experience configuring networks, monitoring systems, activating remote terminals, and tracking SATCOM incident reports; resolving related problems (baseband, IF, RF).
- Prior experience with engineering diagrams that include operation and system level views.
- Strong writing, analytical and reading skills, and effective communication abilities.
- MAGTF Communications Planner or Communications Chief experience preferred.
- Five years of military experience preferred.

- Travel:
Contractor personnel must support government requirements to MARCENT AOR, including travel to multiple countries. Ability to travel on short notice and to execute OCONUS travel throughout the CENTCOM AOR is desirable.
