Utility Permit Supervisor

We are seeking a highly motivated Utility Permitting Supervisor / Senior Permit Coordinator to support utility infrastructure projects through the management of permitting activities, CAD-related design reviews, and coordination with municipalities and regulatory agencies. This individual will have a progressive background in utility permitting, a strong understanding of Right-of-Way (ROW) and easement requirements, and experience working with or developing utility design drawings in AutoCAD.

Previous leadership or supervisory experience is highly preferred, as this role will help guide permitting processes, coordinate with internal design teams, and support overall project execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage utility permit applications from initiation through approval and closeout.
• Coordinate with municipalities, DOTs, utility providers, and other regulatory agencies to secure necessary permits.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, plats, utility plans, and construction documents.
• Prepare, review, and revise permit packages to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Utilize AutoCAD or similar CAD software to review, modify, and assist in the development of utility drawings.
• Develop and maintain strong knowledge of Right-of-Way (ROW), easements, permitting requirements, and utility construction standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, construction, and project management teams to support project schedules and deliverables.
• Track permit statuses, identify potential delays, and proactively resolve issues impacting project timelines.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to permit coordinators, designers, or project support personnel as needed.
• Support quality control efforts for permit documentation, utility plans, and CAD deliverables.
