Job Role s and Responsibilities
Lead structural design and documentation for renovations, additions, and new construction projects.
Prepare, review, and seal structural calculations, drawings, reports, specifications, and construction documents as required.
Perform structural analysis and design for gravity and lateral systems, foundations, framing, structural connections, and existing structure evaluations.
Coordinate with architects, civil engineers, geotechnical engineers, MEP teams, contractors, owners, and regulatory authorities.
Develop and oversee coordinated BIM/Revit models and structural drawing sets.
Conduct field investigations, site visits, existing-condition assessments, and construction-phase services.
Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and other construction documentation for compliance with design intent.
Mentor junior engineers, EITs, interns, and production staff through technical guidance and work reviews.
Maintain organized project files, calculations, reports, and technical documentation.
Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, accuracy, and adherence to project schedules.
Qualifications and CertificationsActive Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field.
Professional experience in structural building design, including renovations, additions, and new construction.
Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and structural design standards.
Proficiency in Revit/BIM workflows.
Experience with structural design software such as RISA-3D, Enercalc, Mathcad, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station, Bluebeam, or similar tools is preferred.
Ability to prepare and review structural calculations, drawings, specifications, reports, and construction documentation.
Strong communication, coordination, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple assignments with strong attention to detail.
Experience with educational, municipal, healthcare, industrial, restoration, or similar building projects is preferred.
Experience evaluating existing structures, designing repairs or renovations, and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects is preferred.
Previous experience mentoring junior engineers or leading technical teams is an advantage.
