Our customer is seeking an experienced Electrical Distribution Design Supervisor to lead a team supporting electrical distribution design projects throughout the Tampa, Florida market. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership, oversee project execution, ensure compliance with utility standards and industry requirements, and support the delivery of high-quality electric distribution infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a seasoned utility design professional with strong leadership skills and extensive experience in overhead and underground distribution systems.

• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of Electrical Designers.
• Manage design workloads, schedules, and production deliverables across multiple projects.
• Provide technical leadership for overhead and underground electrical distribution designs.
• Review and approve design packages, construction drawings, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with utility standards, customer requirements, applicable regulations, and industry codes.
• Support project planning, resource allocation, and schedule management.
• Coordinate with utility stakeholders, engineering teams, permitting agencies, municipalities, and construction personnel.
• Lead quality assurance and quality control efforts and maintain design quality standards.
• Assist with onboarding and development of junior design staff.
• Resolve complex technical design challenges and provide guidance to project teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and design process optimization.
• Monitor project milestones and ensure successful project execution.
• All other duties as assigned.

• 7+ years of electrical distribution design experience.
• 3+ years of leadership, supervisory, lead designer, or project coordination experience.
• Strong knowledge of overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
• Advanced understanding of utility design standards, construction practices, and electrical distribution engineering principles.
• Strong AutoCAD experience.
• Experience reviewing and approving construction-ready design packages.
• Knowledge of utility safety regulations, standards, and industry codes.
• Strong mathematical skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
• Ability to independently complete and oversee large, complex design projects.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Experience implementing and maintaining QA/QC processes.

• Experience supporting major electric utility distribution programs.
• GIS, ArcGIS, or ESRI experience.
• Experience supporting system upgrades, reliability programs, grid hardening initiatives, and new service installations.
• Utility contractor, utility engineering, or utility consulting experience.
• Experience developing AutoCAD workflows, standards, or applications.
