POSITION DETAILS Position Summary
The Application Engineer I supports product selection as well as the review, documentation, and communication of customer and contractual requirements throughout the organization. This role serves as the bridge between customer requirements and engineering execution, ensuring accurate capture and flowdown.
- Review customer RFQs, specifications, drawings, BOMs, purchase orders, and technical requirements.
- Document and communicate contractual requirements throughout the organization.
- Develop requirements and compliance matrices that interpret and organize technical information with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Serve as a liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood and executed.
- Identify and elevate potential requirement conflicts or compliance concerns.
- Continuously develop knowledge of valve products, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate data entry skills and knowledge of Word and Excel software.
- All other duties as assigned.
- The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build professional relationships across the organization.
- Familiarity with manufacturing practices and mechanical systems including valves, piping systems, fluid system testing, or related mechanical equipment is preferred.
- Has a sound, in-depth understanding of concepts and principles in customer service.
- Curious, dependable self-starter with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Able to plan work and commit to meeting deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
- 0-5 years’ relevant experience: valves, regulators, fluid mechanics/control related coursework/education.
- 0-5 years’ technical customer service experience in manufacturing support.
