Company Description TSFGeo (Tierra South Florida, Inc.) is a full-service consulting geotechnical engineering firm providing construction materials testing, inspections, test borings, engineering analyses and reports, and laboratory soils testing. The company’s main office is in West Palm Beach, with branch offices in Miami Lakes, Tampa, and Orlando, and employs highly experienced principal engineers and Registered Professional Engineers licensed in the State of Florida.

Role Description The Geotechnical Engineer role at TSFGeo is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Tampa Bay Area. The Geotechnical Engineer will plan and execute site investigations, supervise field testing programs, and evaluate subsurface conditions to support project design and construction. Daily responsibilities include performing geotechnical analyses, preparing engineering reports and recommendations, developing foundation and earthwork designs in coordination with project teams, and mentor staff.

Qualifications

  • Strong geotechnical engineering skills, including analysis of subsurface conditions and assessment of site constraints.
  • Applied experience in site investigation and soil characterization, including field explorations, sampling, and interpretation of laboratory test data.
  • Proficiency in foundation design, including shallow and deep foundations, earth retention systems, and ground improvement concepts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering required;
    Master’s degree in a related discipline preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida, or the ability to obtain licensure.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes, FDOT standards, and industry guidelines for geotechnical and materials testing work.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and coordination with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), geotechnical design software, Open Ground or gINT, CAD platforms (AutoCAD/Micro Station).
