Naval Architect

Position Summary: Tampa Bay Ship is actively recruiting for an experienced Naval Architect to join our maritime design and engineering team in Tampa, FL. This role involves contributing to the development and modification of ship designs, ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and innovation in vessel construction and refurbishment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and evaluate ship design proposals, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards.
• Perform detailed calculations to establish manufacturing, construction, and installation standards and specifications.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on design, analysis, and project execution.
• Provide technical guidance during construction and testing phases to ensure design integrity and performance.
• Participate in research and propose innovative solutions to enhance vessel design efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Education, Experience, &

Skills:

• Degree in Naval Architecture or related field, with significant experience in marine vessel design.
• Strong command of design software, hydrostatics, stability analysis, and structural assessments.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team while also capable of leading projects independently.
• Familiarity with maritime regulations, classification society standards, and industry best practices.
