THE is looking for a Commissioning Engineer to support the implementation, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of automated solutions within the warehouse automation industry. The ideal candidate is an early-career engineer with an interest in automation and a willingness to work hands-on across software, industrial controls, networking, and system integration.

This role is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, working directly with automated equipment, and seeing engineering solutions progress from installation through successful customer operation. The Commissioning Engineer will work closely with Controls Engineers, Project Engineers, technicians, project managers, and customer teams to ensure automated solutions are properly configured, tested, validated, and ready for production use.

Position Summary:

Commissioning Engineers are critical to the successful implementation and deployment of warehouse automation solutions. In this role, you will support the onsite commissioning of automated solutions, helping transition equipment and software from installation through testing and into reliable customer operation.

The Commissioning Engineer will develop a strong understanding of how automated equipment, controls, software, industrial networks, and warehouse processes interact as part of an integrated system. This role does not require expertise in every technical discipline; instead, it requires a systems-oriented mindset, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work with the appropriate engineering teams to identify and resolve issues.

The successful candidate will spend significant time onsite at customer facilities and must be comfortable working in active warehouse environments, traveling extensively, and supporting projects through commissioning, system validation, and operational readiness.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the installation, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness of automated solutions at customer facilities
  • Execute commissioning procedures and verify the functionality of automated equipment, controls, software applications, and networked devices
  • Perform system integration testing across automated solutions, conveyors, PLCs, HMIs, warehouse control or execution systems, scanners, and related equipment
  • Troubleshoot system issues by analyzing equipment behavior, alarms, software functionality, network communications, system logs, and operational sequences
  • Work with Controls, Software, Electrical, Mechanical, and other engineering teams to identify root causes and resolve system integration issues
  • Verify equipment functionality, system sequences, interlocks, material flow, and overall system performance against
  • Execute commissioning plans, test procedures, checklists, and system validation activities
  • Document test results, issues, resolutions, system changes, and outstanding commissioning activities clearly and accurately
  • Assist with system tuning, performance optimization, and reliability improvements during commissioning
  • Provide feedback to engineering teams regarding recurring issues, system behavior, and opportunities for product or process improvement
  • Coordinate onsite activities with customers, technicians, contractors, project managers, and engineering teams
  • Support customer training and technical handoff as systems transition into production operation
  • Identify potential safety, reliability, or operational concerns and communicate them to the appropriate engineering and project teams
  • Follow established safety procedures, engineering standards, and commissioning processes while working in industrial environments
