Senior Precast Checker​/Senior Detailer

Tampa, FL | Full-Time | On-Site

We are seeking an experienced Senior Precast Checker to join a structural drafting and engineering team in Tampa. This is a hands‑on technical position for someone who understands precast concrete detailing and can confidently review drawings before they move into production.

This is not a general Revit or architectural drafting position. Precast concrete experience is required.

The projects are diverse and can include parking structures, multifamily developments, mixed‑use buildings, hotels, infrastructure, and other total‑precast structures.

What You'll Do

• Review and redline precast erection drawings for accuracy and compliance with contract documents, specifications, and engineering requirements.
• Check piece details/shop drawings prepared by drafting team members.
• Verify dimensions, connections, embeds, hardware, quantities, and other critical precast details.
• Identify discrepancies between erection drawings, piece details, engineering information, and project requirements.
• Use your precast knowledge to coach and provide technical guidance to other detailers.
• Review consultant drawings for compliance with internal drafting standards.
• Assist with connection details and shop tickets when needed to keep projects on schedule.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, and Quality to resolve drawing or fabrication questions.
• Help ensure drawings accurately translate into what will ultimately be produced in the plant and erected in the field.
• Occasionally accompany engineering leadership on local job‑site visits.

What We're Looking For

• Precast concrete experience is required.
• 5+ years of drafting/detailing experience in precast or a closely related structural environment preferred.
• Experience reviewing/checking/redlining the work of other drafters.
• Knowledge of erection drawings, shop drawings/piece details, connections, embeds, hardware, and fabrication requirements

• Previous experience working within a precast manufacturing plant is highly preferred

• Strong ability to read and interpret structural and construction drawings.
• Detail‑oriented with strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

This is a full‑time, in‑office position in Tampa, Florida
, providing a minimum of 40 hours per week. Regular overtime is not typical; however, occasional overtime may be necessary to meet project schedules and deadlines. Bonuses are not typically part of the compensation structure for this position.
