Plumbing Designer Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Plumbing Designer with at least two years of experience in plumbing design or MEP building systems design. The ideal candidate will possess proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD, along with a strong understanding of plumbing system layouts and design principles. This role requires the ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, strong organizational skills, and the capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
The position offers the opportunity to work independently while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Design plumbing systems for commercial, multifamily, hospitality, high-rise tower, and other building projects.
Develop construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
Produce plumbing plans, riser diagrams, schedules, details, and specifications.
Perform plumbing system calculations, including domestic water sizing, sanitary waste, venting, storm drainage, and related design calculations.
Coordinate plumbing designs with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and fire protection disciplines.
Participate in internal design reviews and quality control processes.
Assist with field investigations, site visits, and construction administration activities as needed.
Apply applicable building codes, plumbing codes, and industry standards throughout the design process.
Support project teams by responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and incorporating design revisions throughout project development.
Continue developing technical knowledge through ongoing learning and industry best practices.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Skills & Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Technology, Construction Technology, or a related field.
Experience designing plumbing systems for commercial, hospitality, multifamily, high-rise, healthcare, or similar building projects.
Familiarity with Florida Building Code and applicable plumbing codes.
Knowledge of hydraulic calculations and plumbing sizing methodologies.
Experience with BIM coordination.
Relevant industry certifications such as: CPD (Certified in Plumbing Design), EIT, Autodesk Certified Professional (Revit), or other relevant plumbing or BIM design certifications.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $31.25 - $44.23/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
