Position: Summer 2027 Solid Waste Intern

As part of our Waste sector, you'll help shape solid waste infrastructure and environmental stewardship. With a top-tier industry ranking, our team delivers comprehensive solutions that span waste planning, remediation, engineering and implementation. You'll collaborate closely with clients and communities to design sustainable, cost-effective systems that contribute to cleaner environments and healthier communities. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while developing the technical and professional skills needed to launch your career.

What

You'll Do
  • Support engineers and project teams on transportation planning, design, and infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with solid waste and waste-to-energy assignments.
  • Participate in field visits, project meetings, and technical analyses.
  • Utilize engineering software, GIS tools, and industry technologies to solve real-world challenges.
  • Collaborate with professionals across multiple disciplines in a team-oriented environment.
  • Contribute innovative ideas that improve project delivery and transportation outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Desire to learn, collaborate, and contribute in a professional environment.
  • Experience with CAD, Micro Station, Civil 3D, GIS, or similar software is a plus.
  • Preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
