Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Steven Douglas is working with a local Tampa Bay client seeking a hands-on Interim Controller to support a private equity-backed manufacturing company during a critical phase of growth and operational focus.

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, month-end close, A/P, A/R, payroll, and inventory accounting
• Own the month-end close process and deliver timely, accurate financial statements
• Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain strong internal controls in a PE environment
• Support management reporting, variance analysis, and cash flow oversight
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and operational finance needs
• Manage inventory costing, standard costing, and manufacturing variances
• Serve as primary point of contact for auditors, lenders, and external partners
• Identify process improvements and implement best practices quickly and effectively

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller-level responsibility
• Prior experience in manufacturing and PE-backed organizations strongly preferred
• Deep understanding of inventory, cost accounting, and production environments
• ERP experience required (Sage Intacct, Quick Books, Certania, Salesforce, etc)
• Proven ability to step in quickly, stabilize operations, and drive results
• Interim / contract role
• Immediate or near-term availability preferred
• High-impact role with executive and ownership visibility
