Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary

This role is a hybrid position combining collections and cash application within a B2B environment. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be responsible for accurate and timely application of customer payments, conducting daily collection activities, and supporting the full AR cycle. This is a fully onsite position requiring strong communication, analytical skills, and proficiency with external software platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily outbound collection calls and manage a steady flow of inbound inquiries.
• Reconcile account activity, including high-volume or high-profile customer portfolios.
• Run and resolve aging reports, unapplied cash reports, short pay items, and credit balances.
• Communicate with customers, sales teams, and management regarding past due accounts, blocked orders, and discrepancies.
• Accurately apply customer payments; perform daily account reconciliations.
• Research and resolve short pays, pricing issues, freight discrepancies, and payment variances.
• Analyze and process adjustments, offsets, and write-off requests.
• Monitor credit exposure and evaluate credit information to recommend credit limits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of commercial credit and/or collections experience with B2B accounts.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a strong plus.
• Banking-only backgrounds will not be considered.
• Intermediate Excel skills required (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUPs, large datasets).
• Strong communication and customer relations skills.
