Your role as a DOD Financial Management Consultant is to help federal clients optimise their finance operations, supporting audit readiness, accounting, logistics, property management, civilian pay, and procurement. You will develop and update process documentation, SOPs, and corrective action plans to address audit findings, perform recurring testing of internal controls, design and execute managerial controls programs (A‑123), and provide targeted support on specific components such as root cause analysis for journal vouchers, FBWT variances and PP&E audit remediation.
You will apply federal accounting, financial management and audit knowledge to develop solutions and recommend improvements, tracing auditability from financial statements to operational functions. You will handle large volumes of data in Excel, financial systems and databases, and recommend process improvements to reach audit readiness.
- Active Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, Business or related field.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience in financial, auditing, accounting, consulting or business.
- On‑site availability 5 days a week.
- Advanced degree.
- Interest and potential for obtaining CPA, CGFM or related credential.
- DOD experience and understanding of financial, systems, audit and operational processes.
- Experience with financial statement audits, audit readiness, remediation or sustainment services in DoD or other federal agencies.
