Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and relationship driven Retirement Plan Relationship Manager to support and grow our 401(k) and 403(b) retirement plan business. This individual will serve as a primary point of contact for corporate clients, plan sponsors, TPAs, recordkeepers and investment partners while delivering exceptional service and retirement plan consulting support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, proactive and experienced within the retirement plan industry.
This role is primarily relationship and service focused and does not involve cold calling or sales quotas. FINRA licenses are required.
Our Retirement Plan Relationship Manager must demonstrate a strong work ethic, collaboration skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities. We are looking for someone to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions thoughtfully and strategically with attention to detail. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate well with our clients and partners.
Some of the specific responsibilities include:
- Manage day to day relationships for a book of 401(k) and 403(b) retirement plan clients
- Coordinate and participate in client review meetings, investment committee meetings and DCIO partner meetings
- Assist corporate clients with plan administration questions, service requests and ongoing support
- Work closely with recordkeepers, TPAs, custodians and investment providers
- Prepare client meeting materials, investment reviews, and retirement plan review presentations
- Support onboarding and implementation of new retirement plans
- Monitor and track client service requests to ensure timely resolution
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation in CRM systems
- Help identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships and improve the client experience
- Play a vital role in the sales, plan design and implementation process including participating in finalist presentations
- Consult with clients and prospects on mergers and acquisitions
- Attend networking events to build relationships and identify sales opportunities
- Optimize client portfolios by conducting thorough investment analysis and making data‑driven recommendations for change when necessary
- Collaborate with team members, platform providers, TPA partners and auditors to present plan document reviews, investment reviews and RFP Benchmarking Cost Analysis
- Stay informed on industry trends, retirement plan regulations, and compliance updates
- Other duties as assigned
- FINRA Series 6 or 7 license required
- FINRA Series 63 or 66 license preferred
- Clean compliance, credit and U4 history required
- 3 to 5+ years retirement plan experience required, specifically with 401(k) and/or 403(b) plans, including fiduciary responsibilities (3(21) and 3(38) fiduciary services)
- Strong understanding of retirement plan operations, investments and fiduciary concepts
- Knowledge of ERISA, DOL and FINRA rules and regulations
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal teams
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment with strong attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- This position is primarily in office with limited remote flexibility
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience
