The Opportunity

You will be part of Met Life’s Global Finance organization, specifically within the Investments Finance’s Derivatives Accounting and Reporting team based in Tampa, Florida. The team collaborates closely with internal stakeholders in the Investments organization and the Controls, Analysis & Reporting (CAR) organization to uphold Met Life’s reputation for financial integrity and operational excellence.

The team is responsible for derivative accounting, reconciliations, data integrity, cash settlement accounting, and US GAAP 10Q/K, US Statutory filings, certain Federal Reserve filings and some Mexico local reporting. The individual contributor in Derivatives Accounting and Reporting is responsible for the preparation and review of key accounting, reconciliation, and financial reporting processes related to derivative instruments. This role supports accurate and timely financial reporting across Met Life’s legal entities, including disclosures included in the Company’s Form 10‑Q and 10‑K filings, and plays an important role in maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and supporting Met Life’s commitment to financial transparency and accountability.

This role is well‑suited for a hands‑on accounting professional who enjoys working with complex transactions, collaborating across functions, and contributing to process improvements within a controlled reporting environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex accounting and reporting requirements, contribute to process improvements, and engage with cross‑functional teams. You will play a key role in shaping how Met Life meets its regulatory obligations while driving consistency and quality in financial disclosures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and review of derivative accounting, reconciliations and quarterly and annual US GAAP footnotes.
  • Create efficient reporting processes and documentation that support compliance and audit readiness.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors to support timely and accurate reporting.
  • Develop internal controls and procedures to enhance the quality and reliability of accounting and reporting.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure data integrity and alignment.
Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree required in accounting or finance.
  • Demonstrate ability to independently navigate periods of change, analyze complex accounting issues and transactions, and contribute to the implementation of best practices and procedures in collaboration with business partners.
  • Experience working in a highly results‑oriented, performance‑driven environment with a strong focus on accuracy, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA, MBA or other advanced degree a plus.
  • 3+ years of related accounting and/or reporting experience.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively drive change.
Location Expectation

This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

Salary range for this position is 93,200‑124,300. This role may also be eligible for annual short‑term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
