The Role ItselfUSG is a national wholesale/brokerage for hard-to-place commercial insurance coverages. We are seeking an individual to assist with surplus lines premium tax filings on a full‑time basis (40 hours per week) in our Tampa, FL office location.
Responsibilities- Timely and accurate completion of state regulatory surplus lines tax filings.
- Data entry and management of client‑provided information into proprietary software and state‑based filing systems (e.g., SLIP or OPTIns).
- Conducting compliance and quality reviews of documents and state procedures.
- Running reports and reconciling filings with internal platforms and state transaction reports.
- Assisting with audits by verifying transactions and related documentation.
- Communicating with internal teams (underwriters, brokers) and state insurance departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills to meet multiple deadlines.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
