The Role Itself

USG is a national wholesale/brokerage for hard-to-place commercial insurance coverages. We are seeking an individual to assist with surplus lines premium tax filings on a full‑time basis (40 hours per week) in our Tampa, FL office location.

Responsibilities
  • Timely and accurate completion of state regulatory surplus lines tax filings.
  • Data entry and management of client‑provided information into proprietary software and state‑based filing systems (e.g., SLIP or OPTIns).
  • Conducting compliance and quality reviews of documents and state procedures.
  • Running reports and reconciling filings with internal platforms and state transaction reports.
  • Assisting with audits by verifying transactions and related documentation.
  • Communicating with internal teams (underwriters, brokers) and state insurance departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
