Loss Mitigation Specialist (Single Point Of Contact)

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Loss Mitigation Specialist to support homeowners experiencing financial challenges. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers, helping them understand available mortgage assistance programs and guiding them through the loss mitigation process. This position is ideal for professionals with mortgage servicing, collections, customer service, banking, or financial services experience who enjoy helping customers find solutions while navigating complex processes.

What

You'll Do
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers seeking mortgage assistance
  • Educate borrowers on available home retention and loss mitigation programs
  • Review financial documentation and assist borrowers with application requirements
  • Follow up on missing documents and application status updates
  • Communicate approval and denial decisions in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Monitor active workout plans, forbearance agreements, and modification programs
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation within servicing systems
  • Respond to borrower inquiries and escalated concerns
  • Partner with internal departments to ensure timely processing and compliance
  • Maintain compliance with investor, agency, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of mortgage servicing, loss mitigation, collections, banking, lending, or financial services experience
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining accuracy
  • Experience reviewing financial documentation and making informed decisions
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, or USDA guidelines is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
