Position: AMP Financial Advisor (Tampa, FL)

Job Summary

The Advisory Mastery Program (AMP) is a unique development program designed to provide training and support to prepare trainees for a successful career as a Financial Advisor. Raymond James advisors provide sound financial advice and counsel consistent with clients’ objectives, time horizon, and risk tolerance. AMP offers comprehensive education, training, and mentorship of both technical and sales skills, positioning new advisors for long‑term success.

After their first year, successful AMP Advisors meet production targets that impact overall company revenue and help clients realize their financial goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Become trained and skilled to effectively and efficiently function in the Financial Advisor role.
  • Develop client pipeline by prospecting, networking, community involvement, centers of influence, and developing niches.
  • Manage full scope of client relationship by evaluating financial needs, investment opportunities, current holdings, and available capital to help clients identify objectives.
  • Recommend investment products, solutions, and services suitable for prospects and clients based on predetermined needs, time horizons, risk profiles, and preferences.
  • Seek expertise of internal resources to identify investment opportunities and solutions for clients.
  • Develop a book of business consistent with AMP program goals for assets under management and required production.
  • Complete required program training and assignments, obtaining mandatory industry licenses within prescribed time frames, mastering assessments, and meeting minimum performance and production standards.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking, and analysis and reporting of financial data.
  • Basic principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services.
  • Skill in preparing and delivering clear, effective, and professional presentations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with clients.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills to identify client needs through effective questioning and listening techniques.
  • Ability to demonstrate persistence in the face of obstacles and maintain optimism in the face of rejection.
  • Ability to accept criticism and handle high‑stress situations calmly and effectively.
  • Ability to communicate portfolio losses while preserving client loyalty.
  • High level of client service with a focus on personal wealth management.
  • Network in the community and effectively market self and Raymond James.
Education and Previous Experience

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university preferred, and a minimum of four (4) years’ working experience, including sales (preferably intangible) or business experience demonstrating achievement preferred. OR an equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training as approved by Human Resources.

Licenses and Certifications
  • Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) required or to be obtained within 4 months from start of program.
  • Series7 &66 or ability to obtain within 4 months from start of program.
  • Life, Health and Variable Annuity or ability to obtain within 6 months from start of program.
  • Other certifications: S66, Uniform Combined State Law Examination; S7, General Securities Representative Examination;
    Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE).
Travel

Less than 25%.

Compensation & Benefits

The total compensation for this position includes base salary or wages and may include components such as additional cash or equity, discretionary bonuses, or commissions. The position is eligible for a benefits package that may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, critical illness insurance, accident insurance, disability benefits, retirement savings, paid time off (including vacation, holidays, and sick leave), and parental leave.
