Overview
Come join our GTE Financial team! We are looking for an exceptional listener and a genuine relationship builder to join as a Mortgage Loan Executive. Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day sales and support with applications from community financial centers, web, external referral sources, and in-bound phone inquiries.
- Ensure member loan requests meet members needs; review credit and automated underwriting decisions; prepare loans for underwriting review; follow up on initial document requests from borrowers.
- Sell and counsel members on mortgage loan options per product guidelines; engage with Community Financial Center teammates to develop referral strategies; participate in realtor events, lead groups, and local chamber activities; proactively solicit new residential mortgage business.
- Develop and maintain referral contacts and professional relationships with realtors, builders, etc.; analyze loan file documentation to begin prequalification and move into full loan applications in LOS; maintain knowledge of FHA, VA, CU Portfolio loans and related documentation; communicate lending decisions regarding denials or counter-offers upfront.
- Reinforce selling points of loan types, rates, payments, and mortgage term details; maintain mortgage product knowledge across the credit union.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred; 1–3 years of experience or equivalent.
- Knowledge of secondary market is preferred; working knowledge of GTE’s full suite of lending products and related services.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities; strong interpersonal skills; engagement in campus activities and community involvement; desire to provide exceptional member experience.
- Strong knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act and applicable federal laws (e.g., U.S. Patriot Act, OFAC, AML, Right to Financial Privacy, Bank Bribery Act).
- Must qualify for NMLS registration according to the Safe Act; compliance with all applicable federal regulations; on-call duties and hybrid/in-office options; legally allowed to work in location.

Hours:
Monday–Friday 8:00 am–6:00 pm;
Saturday 9:00 am–1:00 pm. - Full-time hours with additional hours as needed; position is hybrid (in-office/remote) and may change with notice.
- Remote/hybrid work requires a quiet workplace, power and high-speed internet (≥100 Mbps), video capability; candidates must meet technical requirements before training; hybrid candidates must live within driving distance of the office.
- On-call for HQ, CFC, or community events as needed; on-going performance goals and team meetings.
