In this role, you will play a critical part in overseeing the performance of our portfolio, with a primary focus on multifamily assets. You will act as a central hub for fund data, driving complex financial modeling, comprehensive reporting, and strategic portfolio decisions. While primarily focused on portfolio management, you will also cross-functionally support underwriting for new acquisitions and monitor property-level asset management.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build, maintain, and own complex, dynamic fund-level Excel models to track cash flows, overall fund returns (IRR, equity multiples, etc.) and KPIs.
• Evaluate the financial impact of capital events such as refinancings, recapitalizations, asset sales, and distributions.
• Identify and communicate risks and opportunities to management, offering proactive solutions and strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
• Stay updated on industry trends, economic factors, and changes in accounting standards that may impact financial analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial data and assumptions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic plans.
• Prepare detailed quarterly investor reports, board presentations, management reporting packages, and internal performance dashboards.
• Consolidate asset-level financial performance into fund-level reporting and analysis.
• Multifamily Asset Management:
  • Analyze property-level performance against initial underwriting, review operating budgets, and utilize Yardi to extract and analyze asset data.
  • Track and report key performance indicators including NOI, occupancy, revenue trends, operating margins, and JV/Fund level cash flow.
• Acquisitions Support:
  • Assist the acquisitions team with robust spreadsheet modeling and rigorous financial analysis for new multifamily deals as deal flow requires.
  • Provide support in evaluating and analyzing investment opportunities, including financial due diligence, ROI analysis, and sensitivity analysis.
• Liquidity Tracking:
  • Monitor and forecast fund liquidity, including capital calls, distributions, and credit facility management.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field of study. Advanced degree a plus, but not required.

Required Experience/Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience in real estate finance, fund management, portfolio management, or acquisitions. Demonstrated understanding of the multifamily real estate sector and its specific operating metrics. Experience with portfolio reporting, fund-level analytics, and investment performance measurement.
• Advanced Excel skills are mandatory; candidates must be highly proficient in building and auditing complex financial models from scratch.
• Hands-on experience and familiarity with Yardi or similarly complex ERP is required.
• Exceptional attention to detail, strong presentation skills, the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights for the investment committee and board of directors, and a high comfort level navigating ambiguity and working independently.
