- General Ledger & Financial Accounting: Prepare and post monthly journal entries for complex financial items, including fixed assets, municipal investments, and debt service.
- Payroll Operations: Coordinate directly with Human Resources to manage and execute the Finance Department’s portion of payroll processing.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Compile and review monthly and quarterly financial statements to monitor fiscal health and budget performance.
- Asset & Inventory Management: Maintain and track municipal fleet inventory and oversee fixed asset accounting records.
- Budget & Audit Support: Assist in the development of the annual municipal budget and serve as a direct contributor to annual external audit preparations.
- Cross-Functional Support & Training: Participate in team cross-training and provide backup coverage across primary finance operations, including grants management, accounts payable (A/P), accounts receivable (A/R), and utility billing.
