Overview

The Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting the government in planning, performance and analysis of a budgetary portfolio. Will strategize and aide the maintenance of government contracts focused on accounting and reporting. This role involves strategizing and aiding in the maintenance and oversight of government contracts with a heavy focus on financial accounting, reporting, and compliance. The analyst will support all phases of the federal budget lifecycle including formulation, execution, and justification.

Perform critical financial analyses to ensure fiscal accountability and operational success.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assists with monthly, quarterly and annual budgetary oversight and budget formulation, execution and justification.
  • Perform financial analyses related to invoice reconciliation, budget forecast, and procurement status.
  • Assist with budgeting monthly, quarterly, and annual budgetary oversight, actively participating in budget formulation, execution, and justification processes.
  • Perform comprehensive financial analysis, including detailed budget forecasting, variance analysis, and tracking procurement status against planned baselines.
  • Manage and execute detailed invoice reconciliation processes to ensure accuracy, compliance with contract terms, and timely processing.
  • Strategize and maintain financial models, ledger reconciliations, and reporting mechanisms focused on federal accounting standards.
  • Aide government program managers by providing data-driven financial insights, regular status reports, and actionable recommendations to optimize portfolio spend.
  • Ensure all financial activities, tracking, and reporting align with federal regulations, guidelines, and agency-specific policies.

Education And/or Experience
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in financial analysis, federal budgeting, or government contracting accounting. (An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Strong understanding of federal budget execution, contract types (FFP, T&M, CPFF), and accounting principles.
  • Advanced capability to manipulate, analyze, and interpret large, complex financial datasets to identify trends and build accurate forecasts.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and advanced formulas) and experience using automated financial management systems or ERPs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and accuracy when reconciling invoices and reviewing budgetary allocations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) are a plus but not required.
Security Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be eligible for and able to obtain and maintain required security clearance/access approvals.
