Position: Financial Planning Associate — Wealth Management Firm.

Independent Financial Partners (IFP) is one of the nation's leading independent wealth management platforms, supporting hundreds of financial advisors across the country with technology, operations, compliance, investment solutions, and practice management resources.

we're building a centralized Financial Planning team that will support both our growing in-house wealth management business and financial advisors across the broader IFP platform. We're looking for a Financial Planning Associate who enjoys solving complex planning challenges, leveraging industry-leading planning technology, and helping advisors deliver exceptional outcomes for their clients.

About the Role

As a Financial Planning Associate, you'll initially serve as a key planning resource for IFP Private Client
, our in-house wealth management team. Working closely with experienced advisors, you'll help develop comprehensive financial plans, prepare planning analyses, and support the delivery of sophisticated financial advice to clients.

As our centralized planning capabilities continue to expand, you'll also have the opportunity to support financial advisors across the broader IFP platform, helping build a scalable planning service that delivers exceptional value to advisors and their clients.

This is an analytical, primarily behind-the-scenes role with occasional participation in advisor and client meetings. You'll spend the majority of your time developing planning recommendations, running financial scenarios, preparing client deliverables, and helping advisors implement sophisticated planning strategies.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex financial planning challenges, has a strong technical aptitude, and takes pride in producing high-quality work that helps advisors better serve their clients.

What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain comprehensive financial plans using eMoney.
  • Analyze retirement, cash flow, education, insurance, estate, and investment planning scenarios.
  • Utilize Holistiplan to identify tax planning opportunities and develop recommendations.
  • Prepare estate planning summaries and collaborate with  and other planning technologies.
  • Develop planning illustrations, reports, and client presentation materials.
  • Partner with advisors to understand client goals and planning objectives.
  • Participate in advisor and client meetings as needed to support planning discussions.
  • Maintain planning assumptions and documentation.
  • Help develop planning templates, workflows, and best practices that support a scalable planning service.
  • Stay current on financial planning concepts, planning technology, and industry trends.
What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and enjoys solving complex financial planning problems. You're someone who likes working with technology, continuously learning, and producing high-quality work that helps advisors deliver better outcomes for their clients.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in financial planning within an RIA, broker-dealer, or wealth management firm.
  • Experience using financial planning software such as eMoney, Money Guide Pro , Right Capital, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with planning technologies such as Holistiplan, , or comparable solutions.
  • Strong understanding of retirement, investment, tax, estate, and insurance planning concepts.
  • CFP® certification or CFP® coursework completed or in progress is strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple planning engagements while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Candidates with a passion for financial planning and strong technical aptitude will be considered even if they have not worked with every planning platform listed above.
